Job Description

We are working on behalf of a fantastic Midlands based insurer, who are looking to add to their Compliance team due to continued growth. They are seeking a Quality Assurance Officer who will be carrying out monthly technical underwriting audits, typical volumes per month would be around 60 audits and above. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct Quality Assurance Audits within the Underwriting Services Department to monitor adherence to underwriting guidelines and licence authorities.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance Audits within other departments to assess service quality and adherence to internal processes.
  • Analyse the compliance standards being achieved by conducting Quality Assurance Audits and provide ongoing assurance of adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement where required and work with the business to implement remedial actions.

Job Requirements:

  • Background working in an insurance environment
  • Demonstratable experience working in a compliance, conduct or QA role
  • Good knowledge of FCA Rules and Regulations
  • A proactive ‘can do’ and flexible attitude. Be able to recognise priorities a short notice
  • An excellent standard of literacy, numeracy and attention to detail
  • Self-Motivated and good organisational skills. Able to manage own workload and deliver against deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work independently and confidentially
  • Experienced in the use of all Microsoft Office applications to an intermediate level
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to build successful relationships with all stakeholders
  • Champions the compliance culture and acts as a role model
  • Takes responsibility for own development
  • Good judgement and listening skills
  • Ability to innovate and improve working processes
