Job Description

We are thrilled to be partnering with a new client that operate within the insurance space. Due to growth they are looking to hire a Risk & Compliance Manager. This is a hybrid role, with a minimum of 2 days required in the office per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Head of Risk & Compliance, you will support the delivery of the departmental business plan in line with the company strategy, by leading the Risk and Compliance team to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Building effective relationships within the business to ensure that an effective compliance culture is in place, promoting positive engagement and behaviours within Commercial Express, leading by example as a role model.
  • Development and enhancement of compliance processes in accordance with market practice to meet regulatory expectations, setting up and monitoring adequate and appropriate systems and controls to ensure that the firm meets its regulatory requirements.
  • Leading on the development, implementation and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures.
  • Providing sound compliance advice to business stakeholders and escalating material compliance issues to the Head of Risk & Compliance on identification, with analysis of impact, criticality and remedial options.
  • Motivate your department to perform their duties to the highest level, achieve company KPI’s and Objectives by ensuring your teams are performing in line with agreed targets.

This role includes Line Management responsibilities.

Job Requirements:

  • Background working in an insurance environment
  • Demonstratable experience working in a compliance or conduct role
  • Good knowledge of FCA Rules and Regulations
  • A proactive ‘can do’ and flexible attitude. Be able to recognise priorities at short notice
  • Champions the compliance culture
  • Adherence to FCA principles and act as a role model for the company, leading by example
  • Experience in people management, driving staff to achieve targets and goals
  • Managing change effectively
  • Experienced in the use of all Microsoft Office applications to an intermediate level
  • Good analytical, problem solving skills
  • Ability to build successful relationships with stakeholders
  • Takes responsibility for own development
  • Ability to innovate and improve processes to drive efficiencies
