UK Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO / SMF17)
Birchlake Recruitment is partnering with a growing digital financial platform and payments business to appoint an experienced MLRO as it progresses through its FCA EMI authorisation journey.
This is a key senior appointment within a start-up environment, combining responsibility for the firm's Financial Crime Framework with acting as the internal lead for the EMI authorisation process.
Working alongside an external regulatory consultancy, you'll provide internal ownership, oversight and challenge, coordinate the application across the business and engage confidently with the FCA.
We're looking for:
  • Previous experience leading or playing a significant role in an EMI authorisation
  • Demonstrable knowledge of the Electronic Money Regulations 2011
  • 5+ years' Financial Crime/AML experience within UK Payments/E-Money
  • Previous MLRO or Deputy MLRO experience
  • Strong knowledge of AML/CTF, sanctions, transaction monitoring, SARs and Financial Crime frameworks
  • Experience engaging directly with the FCA
  • Confidence working with and constructively challenging senior management, the Board and external regulatory advisers
