We are delighted to be working with brand new boutique wealth management firm in central London. They are looking to appoint a Paraplanner to help provide ongoing servicing of a portfolio of clients to deliver good and fair client outcomes. 

                   

                  

Purpose of Role

 

You will support an adviser to grow their client bank by increasingly taking on the day-to-day client relationships. You will work with a set group of clients but will also work with other clients as required to provide cover and capacity and for development opportunities. The role will have a significant degree of client contact by phone and face to face in meetings including proactive client contact rather than just responding to incoming work.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Prepare specific advice recommendations as part of a client’s overall plan (advice within your scope of permissions does not need to be signed off by Adviser).  Note there will not be another Paraplanner involved in these cases and common sense should be applied to ensure work is reviewed before it goes out the door for spelling, calculations, etc.

 

    • Research product and provider details
    • Prepare recommendation reports in line with company guidelines
    • Co-ordinate follow up and implementation of advice
    • Support Adviser in handling client queries
    • Liaise with client support to ensure advice implemented effectively and accurately

 

  • Manage client reviews and ongoing client management for an agreed list of clients.  Review meetings can be completed without an Adviser in agreement with the lead Adviser
  •  
    • Proactively organise annual review programme
    • Oversee annual review meeting packs, assisting in setting agenda & Voyant updates
    • Lead meetings (in person or virtual)
    • Prepare meeting notes and complete product suitability assessments
    • Own follow up actions to ensure all actioned

 

  • Proactively develop relationships with an agreed list of clients so that you increasingly become their trusted adviser through for e.g. phone ‘check-ins’, proactive contact

 

  •  Support in the onboarding of new clients (this will always involve an Adviser)
    • Attending discovery meetings and supporting fact finding
    • Preparing Voyant base plans and scenarios
    • Developing strategy in conjunction with adviser
    • Presenting plans to clients and agreeing strategy and way forward

 

  •  Work collaboratively with the Adviser and wider team
    • Keep the lead Adviser updated on activity with the client through regular touch points
    • Work collaboratively as a team to deliver the best outcomes to the client and the business
    • Maintain client files to ensure these remain compliant and all records are updated on relevant systems i.e. Sharepoint, Curo in accordance with company processes

 

  • Maintain technical knowledge and competence across core product areas

 

Skills & Experience

  • Level 4 qualified and minimum of 2 years’ experience in a paraplanner or equivalent role
  • Experience of building cash flow plans ideally using Voyant
  • Good attention to detail and focus on delivering a quality output
  • Strong client servicing skills and ability to build relationships with clients

 

Future Progression

For those paraplanners looking to remain working in a paraplanning capacity the next step up would be to a senior paraplanner. However, there is an opportunity for those who want to progress to Advising and the structure that's in place supports this transition.
